CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)— The FBI is investigating an incident that took place aboard a passenger flight that landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
FBI spokeswoman Shelley Lynch wrote in an email to The Charlotte Observer on Wednesday night that agents were "investigating an incident on a flight and we are interviewing the person involved."
Lynch said passengers were rescreened. She also wrote "there are no indications there is or was a threat to public safety."
Later Wednesday, the FBI spokeswoman said there would be "no federal charges at this time."
The newspaper reported that a flight that landed at around 5:30 p.m. was met on the tarmac by security officials and FBI agents.
US Airways officials told news station WBTV that the security concern arose on Flight 114 from Boston to Charlotte.
