DARTMOUTH, Mass. — The remains found in the backyard of a property where a fugitive's widow resides are that of the man who has been sought by police for decades, according to the FBI.
The remains uncovered earlier this week were positively identified as longtime fugitive Donald Eugene Webb, the FBI said Friday.

His remains were found in the back of his wife's property on Maplecrest Drive in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
Webb was wanted in connection to the 1980 murder of a Pennsylvania police chief. A warrant was issued for his arrest in 1980 after he was accused of killing Saxonburg Police Chief Gregory Adams.

According to the FBI’s autopsy performed Friday, Webb died in 1999.
The FBI and state police in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania discovered remains Thursday at Lillian Webb's home in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
