Sources: Expressway shooting connected to deadly Dorchester incident

BOSTON — A father and son were shot while riding motorcycles down Interstate 93 Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The incident shut down the expressway for hours Sunday evening and caused traffic to back up for miles.

Multiple sources have confirmed to 25 Investigates that a deadly shooting in Dorchester on Sunday night was connected to this incident.

Lance Holloman, 30, was identified by sources as a person of interest. He was taken into custody after a car accident in Franklin, Mass.

Mugshot taken of Lance Holloman, 30, on Feb. 15, 2017 after his arrest in Salem, NH for assaulting a security guard and shoplifting.

Holloman's mug shot pictured above dates back to when he was arrested in February 15, 2017 in Salem, NH for assaulting security guards at a mall after he and another woman were caught shoplifting at a Lord and Taylor store.

Holloman is awaiting arraignment on unrelated charges in Dorchester District Court. Boston Police originally issued a warrant for his arrest in connection to an incident that occurred on May 31. He faces eight counts, including one for carrying an unlicensed, loaded firearm.

Holloman has a previous address of 11 Santuit Street in Dorchester -- the same address as the fatal Sunday night shooting.

A Jeep Renegade sought in connection to the attack was found early Monday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police. Though officials would not say where it was found, they simply alerted Boston 25 they were no longer asking for help locating the vehicle.

The father shot in the attack, a 54-year old from Raynham, was taken to Tufts Medical Center with serious injuries, according to police.

Meanwhile, his son, a 34-year-old East Taunton man, was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

Police say the father is expected to survive, but the son's injuries are life-threatening.

The shooting happened in the southbound lanes of the expressway at approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the two men, on separate motorcycles, were shot near the Freeport Street exit.

"It's a sad reason we're stuck here, but everybody's been terrifically calm and friendly and talking with each other while the police sort out what's happened," Gretchen Van Ness told Boston 25 News Sunday.

Police are asking anyone who was around the Expressway and may have seen something to call police.
