Father of missing N.H. teen posts letter to daughter

NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A missing New Hampshire teen's father took to her Facebook page on Christmas Day to post a message to her.

Abigail Hernandez vanished after leaving Kennett High School around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. She walked along Eagles Way after leaving school and was last seen taking a short cut through a power line trail.

Her father, Ruben Hernandez, posted a letter to her Facebook page, which read in part:

"I was so happy and relieved when I heard that your mother received a letter from you. It was answered prayer that you are OK. It gave me so much hope, and I know that a lot of people who are very worried about you were also happy and relieved to hear that you contacted your mother."

Officials believe the teen wrote a letter postmarked on Oct. 23 that was received by her mother on Nov. 6. State officials said they did not release the details of the letter until December, saying they had to take every step to confirm the letter's authenticity.
