BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The father of a 10-year-old Brockton rapper has been arrested following a massive police sweep.
According to the Patriot Ledger, Luis M. Rivera, 30, was one of 25 people arrested in a drug and gun sweep in Brockton Wednesday.
The Patriot Ledger reports that Rivera was arrested on a default warrant for assault and battery. He was also charged with marijuana possession.
In May, Rivera was investigated after the driver of a car containing the 10-year-old Luie Rivera, Jr., known as "Lil Poopy" was approached by police at a McDonalds restaurant. Police said they smelled marijuana in the car but did not find any.
Rivera's attorney, told the Boston Herald that the investigation appeared to be sour grapes over how a previous investigation had gone. Rivera was cleared of child abuse or neglect in April.
According to the Patriot Ledger, more than 100 law enforcement officials conducted a massive sweep targeting drug dealing, illegal guns and gang activity in Brockton.
