Family still seeking answers nearly 3 decades after murder

MALDEN, Mass. — It's been 29 years since a Malden mother was found murdered inside her home.

Sheila Levesque was 35 when she was killed in 1988, she had six children.

"I was the one that found her,” Sheila’s daughter Ronnell said.

Ronnell was 9 years old at the time.

"I have a child, a daughter, 9 years old now. I look at her and can't imagine her waking up to me like that,” she said.

Sheila had been stabbed and was pronounced dead at the hospital just hours later.

"I remember waking up to the aftermath and that's about it,” Sheila’s son Jeremy Rushak said.

After nearly three decades, there have been no arrests.

“Not knowing who did it is what eats at me and bothers me the most,” Ronnell said.

On Sunday, Ronnell and Jeremy returned to the Newland Street Development in Malden for the first time since the tragedy.

"For a lot of people to be home and for something so tragic to happen, not to really know what happened is just confusing,” Jeremy said.

The siblings lit candles and displayed photos while asking for justice and answers.

"I can’t live life until I know who did this and put them behind bars. They did this to my mom, they can do this to someone else,” Ronnell said.
