BOSTON - The parents of a 6-year-old boy who drowned want to warn other parents before it's too late.
Jessica Kelly said her son Brayden was the child pulled from a pool on Trenton Street a week and a half ago in East Boston. He was swimming over at another family's home.
Brayden was only 6 years old. After being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital for several days, he passed away.
His mother says he loved to swim and believes he was wearing floaters at the time. She says all she wants now is for other parents to be aware when their kids are around water.
"Make sure they wear all the gear - everything possible to try to prevent this,” said Kelly.
Brayden’s parents said they're not blaming anyone for what happened, but that this could've been prevented.
"We just want parents to know... just make sure in the summertime, you don't let your eye off them,” she said.
The family has started a GoFundMe for a funeral for Brayden.
