AVON, Mass. — A father, pregnant mother and daughter are in the hospital after a tire smashed through their vehicle's windshield Sunday.
A pickup truck belonging to a concrete company was driving on 24 North in Avon when it lost two wheels and part of an axle. One of the wheels jumped the median and bounded into a minivan's windshield.
A father, an eight month pregnant mother and a 9-year-old daughter were are all injured. The mother and daughter went to Brockton Hospital and the father was taken to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries.

A few minutes later, two other cars driving on Rt. 24 were struck, but from an unrelated object.
