Family, friends hold vigil for victim of alleged stabbing spree

MILLIS, Mass. -- Family, friends and complete strangers gathered Monday evening in Millis to remember Olivia Bergstrom, who was killed over the weekend.

Police believe Bergstrom was killed by her boyfriend, 24-year-old Benjamin Walsh, in their Needham apartment. After that, Walsh allegedly went to Millis and stabbed his parents while they were at dinner. Walsh's parents survived.

"Olivia was one of the nicest people you could possibly have," Walsh and Bergstrom's landlord said. "They were paying the rent, taking care of the property, telling me how good of a neighborhood (it is)."

Bergstrom was from Holliston and worked at a cafe in Wellesley where she was by all accounts well-liked.

“Devastated does not even begin to describe how we feel about losing our Olivia. Olivia was a smart, vibrant, beautiful young woman with a bright future ahead of her. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend. Olivia was a lover of animals who never met a horse she couldn’t win over," Paul Bergstrom said in a statement about his granddaughter.
