Falmouth teen dies after jump from car

FALMOUTH (AP) - Police are investigating after a Falmouth teenager apparently jumped from a moving car and subsequently died.

Police say 18-year-old Albino "A.J." Fernandes was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after leaving the moving car at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Police did not say how fast the car was traveling.

A witness says a woman was seen cradling Fernandes and crying after the incident.

Police have not released additional details citing the ongoing investigation.

Fernandes had graduated from Falmouth High School last June where he was a captain of the football team. He had planned on enrolling at Cape Cod Community College.
