Falmouth police say man hit in crosswalk has died

FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - Falmouth police say an 80-year-old man has died after being hit by an 88-year-old driver as he was crossing the street on Sunday morning.

The Cape Cod Times reports that police identified the man as John Dunn of Falmouth. He suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to a Boston hospital where he died.

Police said Dunn was in a crosswalk on Main Street, Route 28, near St. Patrick's Church when he was hit just before 8 a.m.

Police said the driver, 88-year-old Mary Fitzpatrick of Falmouth, was driving slowly at the time.

No charges have been filed. Police say they are still investigating.
