Fall River woman charged in connection with 4 armed robberies

FALL RIVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 25-year-old Fall River woman is facing several charges in connection with four armed robberies that occurred in the city within recent weeks.

Crystal Bourgeois was arrested Tuesday, 18 minutes after her fourth robbery, and has since been charged with three counts of armed and masked robbery and a single count of armed assault to rob, police said.

Bourgeois was found hiding in bushes on Gladding Place after police said she held up the Yadav Food Market located at 127 Stafford Road. Officers responded to the convenience store at about 9:22 a.m. after the clerk reported a masked woman wielding a hatchet had demanded money.

According to police, the clerk managed to frighten the suspect with a baseball bat and she left without any money.

At about 8:14 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to the same store for reports of a female suspect who threatened a female clerk at knifepoint and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In another instance, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Kam's Food Mart located on Second Street at about 10:34 a.m. on Oct. 1. Police said the masked suspect was armed with a large knife and threatened the clerk. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk told police the same suspect robbed the store on Sept. 28 at about 8:44 a.m. During this alleged robbery, the masked female carried a knife and demanded money.

In both Kam's Food Mart cases, police were able to locate evidence of the crime in the area.

No one was injured during any of the robberies, police said.
