Fall River project halted after workers caught drinking

FALL RIVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Construction completely halted on a Fall River project after the project's construction workers were caught drinking on the job.

A resident near the James Madison Morton Middle School shot footage from his home showing workers from DaPonte Construction slamming back beers wrapped in tin foil so as not to be noticed by others.

At one point, the resident noted one worker drank six beers in under an hour as they worked on the school's parking lot.

Fall River's mayor has launched an investigation into the incident and planned on speaking with the owners of the construction company Monday.

The James Madison Morton Middle School project has been going on for more than a year and is completely funded on the taxpayer's dime.
