MOULTONBOROUGH, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) — Firefighters in New Hampshire's Lakes Region say an explosion and fire leveled a house in Moultonborough.
Some neighbors were awakened by the explosion on Red Hill about 3 a.m. Firefighters said it was a 1,500 square-foot summer home and that no one was inside at the time of the explosion.
Moultonborough Fire Chief David Bengtson told FOX 25 the initial cause is a propane gas explosion, which was felt up to four miles away.
The home is assessed at $352,400 and is owned by Steven Vigeant, of Marlborough, Mass.
The community of about 4,000 located along Lake Winnipesaukee is about 50 miles northeast of Concord.
