Evacuations ordered due to gas leak in Medway

MEDWAY, Mass. — Evacuations were ordered in Medway Wednesday morning after a gas leak was reported in town, fire officials said.

Town officials said a gas main was damaged on Main Street at Pond Street before 9 a.m.

As a result, nearby buildings had been evacuated and Route 109 was closed between Lincoln and Holliston streets while the gas company shut off the supply and could make repairs.

Officials advised everyone to avoid the area is possible.
