Three suspects in custody following Epping home invasion

EPPING, Mass. — Three suspects are in custody following a home invasion near Lamprey Village Drive Wednesday, police tell FOX25.

Epping residents were asked to shelter in place on Lamprey Village Drive as police searched for the three suspects.

“A taller gentleman came in and slammed me in the head with a gun after pointing at me, because I wasn’t going to cooperate and reached for my firearm. He slammed me in the head with a gun, and I still wouldn’t cooperate so then they got me into a chokehold and they were pointing it in my face saying ‘give us everything.’ Then I broke free and ran outside,” Dylan Czabaruk said.

Two suspects, Travis Garand, 18, of Epping and Benjamin Rouser, 18, of Marlborough, Mass., were arrested in the area of the home invasion. A third suspect, Raul Natareno, 23, of Framingham, Mass. was found hiding in a shed behind a home on a different street.

Nina Barbosa saw police searching the area on foot and with a helicopter for Natareno.

“I got really, really nervous and locked the doors and texted my husband, ‘oh my God I guess they’re here, the helicopters are right above our house,’” she said.

Nina's husband Udo arrived home a few minutes later, and noticed their dog Lucky was barking.

“Our dog got super crazy at the slider door and we let the dog out and the dog immediately aimed for the shed was barking and really upset," Udo said.

When the couple followed Lucky, they found Natareno hiding behind a rock wall near the shed and called 911.

Natareno is charged with armed robbery, burglary, resisting arrest, and conspiracy to purchase drugs. Rouse is charged with armed robbery, burglary, first degree assault, and criminal threatening. Garand faces three charges of criminal liability.
