SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The MSPCA-Angell is asking for the public's help in tracking down the person who wrapped a dog in plastic and left it for dead in Springfield.
The organization says the dog was found emaciated and alive Tuesday inside a plastic shopping back at a construction site.
A passerby found the dog, who staffers named "Buffy," and brought it to the Dakin Humane Society. The poodle-mix is anemic and will undergo further tests to determine if she has an underlying disease.
Anyone with information about Buffy is asked to call the law enforcement hotline at: 800-628-5808.
Animal cruelty is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $2,500 fine.
