Ellsbury signs 7-year, $153 million contract with Yankees

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Jacoby Ellsbury and the New York Yankees agreed to a seven-year, $153 million contract Tuesday night, according to Yahoo Sports.

Ellsbury's deal will be final after he has a physical. The 30-year-old former Red Sox player is a center fielder. His new deal includes a buyout for an eighth-year-option, which could bring the deal's total value to $169 million, Yahoo Sports reported.

The Yankees are also pursuing other pricey players, including free agent Robinson Cano.
