BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a report of a sinking boat in East Boston Sunday.
The 85-foot-vessel, named the Virginia Sea 2, began taking on water early Sunday. The Coast Guard said the boat's owner tried to take care of the leak but was unable to do so on his own. The boat ultimately sank.
Coast Guard officials said a light oil sheen was coming from the boat. Crews were working to contain the spill.
An investigation is ongoing.
