Easton police say ‘multiple' people barricaded inside home may be armed

A large police investigation is underway in Easton after investigators say multiple people who may be barricaded inside a home may also be armed.

The incident is taking place at a home on Old Foundry Road, according to police, and residents are being asked to avoid the area until it’s deemed to be safe.

Easton police said they were contacted by officers in North Attleboro and asked them to be on the lookout for a person involved in an assault.

Police said they located the vehicle, with several people inside, but the person they were looking for had already been dropped off at the home on Old Foundry Road.

When officers arrived, they said they were able to take the suspect into custody but two other people could still be inside the home.

Those people don’t live there and could be armed, police said.

Police are now searching the home to see if anyone is still inside.

No other information was released.
