BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – An East Boston man whom Transit Police first approached to issue a fare citation for fare evasion was arrested after the officers learned he had a warrant out for his arrest.
Transit Officers on patrol at the Park Street MBTA station approached 26-year-old Robert Sferrazza after he allegedly "piggybacked" in behind a paying customer.
Officers were prepared to issue a citation until they learned a warrant for Sferrazza's arrest had been issued in Taunton for receiving stolen property, larceny over $250, and trespassing.
Sferrazza was taken into custody and transported to Transit Police headquarters for booking. He was additionally issued a fare evasion citation.
