EAST BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A fire in East Boston forced 45 people out into the cold.
It happened around 9 p.m. Thursday at 170 Maverick St. Officials say the fire was out in less than 10 minutes, but did damage.
The building's sprinkler system had to be shut down, and according to the law, people can't stay in an apartment complex with a non-working system.
All of the residents are being temporarily housed in a community center.
One victim was taken to the hospital with severe burns.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
