Drug charges for Tsarnaev sister likely to be cleared

NEW JERSEY (MyFoxBoston.com) – The sister of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects will likely be cleared of drug charges.

Bella Tsarnaeva was in a New Jersey courtroom Tuesday.  She's charged with marijuana possession and distribution.

In December, police responded to a domestic violence call and then searched her home after smelling the drug. According to The Record newspaper, Bella Tsarnaeva will be admitted to a pre-trial invention program while prosecutors try to work out a deal for her boyfriend. At that point, the Associated Press reports that her record will likely be cleared.

Her brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is charged with carrying out the marathon attacks with older brother, Tamerlan, who died following a shootout with police.

Bella Tsarnaeva has never been implicated in the attacks.
