TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Much of the Boston area has seen a devastating drought this summer and its creating overwhelming demand for one local business owner.
Tom Talbot, the owner of Reliable Well and Pump of Tewksbury, says his company has been digging out irrigation wells constantly these days because of the water bans in many towns. People are unable to water their lawns and have been turning to his company to find a solution.
Talbot says he also gets three to five calls a day for dried up drinking water wells and it's the worst he's seen in 20 years.
Extra depth drilling for water wells can be incredibly expensive, Talbot says, and the cost is being passed on to homeowners because of the drought.
He told FOX25 some people have been waiting over a month without water because his company simply can't meet demand. He also said he doesn't think it'll get better before Christmas.
