HAVERHILL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Haverhill are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a woman attempting to cross Essex Street early Sunday morning.
The 40-year-old woman was crossing the street in the area of 240 Essex St. at about 1 a.m. when she was hit by a car heading north on Essex Street, The Eagle-Tribune reports.
Police said the driver didn't stop and continued onto Lafayette Square.
The victim suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
According to the newspaper, witnesses described the car as a silver or gray, two-door Honda Civic or similar model. The car also sustained front-end damage.
