Driver crashes into Walpole home, takes off

WALPOLE, Mass. — Police are searching for a driver who struck a Walpole home - then took off.

The car plowed right into the home on Gill Street - luckily the homeowners were not there at the time.

Authorities believe it happened sometime after 9 or 10 Thursday morning. The driver of the car even left some evidence behind, so police now know they are looking for a Chevy Sonic, possibly 2011-2016.

"When the officers got there this morning, there was no ice. There was no debris. It was all clear. I don't know what they were doing, if they got distracted. They went right through the intersection," said Walpole Police Chief John Carmichael.

Police are asking for anyone with any information to give them a call.
