Video posted to Facebook by Austin Maxwell, who happened to be driving by when the incident happened, shows a trooper trying to handcuff LeBeau while holding him down on the pavement for several minutes in Mesa, Arizona. You can see LeBeau fighting back while barefoot and can hear him screaming and complaining that the pavement is hot. AZ Central reported that the high temperature was 107 degrees that day.

The video then shows two drivers coming by to help hold LeBeau down while the trooper finally gets handcuffs on him. They then proceed to get him up off the ground and get him into the back of the police car.

According to KNXV, LeBeau was pulled over around 1 p.m., for speeding and going 95 miles per hour on Loop 202 near Brown Road. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the speed limit was only 65 miles per hour.

William Pitts of KPNX recorded the temperature of the asphalt a day after the incident and tweeted out a photo of the 151.9-degree temperature.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety released the following statement regarding the arrest:

"Although the pavement was hot, it did not have to end up there. We don't get to pick the location a combative suspect wants to fight…they do. Thanks to two courageous citizens helping our trooper, we were able to gain control of Mr. LeBeau and get him in the back of a police car before he seriously hurt himself or our trooper."

"I don't know exactly what happened right before filming but it appears the officer is using excessive force, especially considering the temp was 110 degrees, meaning the pavement was even hotter," Maxwell wrote on Youtube.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said LeBeau suffered minor scrapes and was treated both on the scene and at a local hospital. The trooper was injured.

LeBeau was arrested and faces charges of resisting arrest, criminal speeding and DUI-drugs.
