Dorchester teen charged with attempted murder in shooting

DORCHESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 15-year-old from Dorchester is facing attempted murder and firearm charges after a shooting Monday night.

Police were called to Corona Street at about 8:10 p.m. for the report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the leg and another to the chest.

The victim was able to identify the gunman, who was arrested shortly after in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street.

The teen was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building. He was held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

The victim was listed in stable condition.
