Dorchester students building mosaic of David Ortiz

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Students at the Joseph Lee School in Dorchester are working on a large mosaic of Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.

Sensory arts teacher Chris Hall tells FOX 25 the mosaic was built over a period of one month by 153 students with autism. The mosaic contains more than 32,000 small tiles.

The school hopes to unveil the artwork sometime this month.

This is just the latest mural created by the talented students at Joseph Lee. In 2012, they built a mural of President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Rosa Parks, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to commemorate Black History Month and Autism Awareness Month.
