PROVIDENCE, R.I. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Dorchester man was arrested over the weekend, accused of sex trafficking minors.
Police said on Friday, police received a call from the mother of a 15-year-old girl who reported her daughter missing. The woman told police she believed the girl was in the company of a man she met on social media.
Investigators tracked the man, later identified as 26-year-old Anthony Pledger, of Dorchester, to an apartment in Providence. They said they found Pledger with the 15-year-old and a 16-year-old girl who was also reported missing.
Police said Pledger spent the night with the 15-year-old Thursday before going back to Boston to pick up her 16-year-old friend. Police said he offered them clothing and other compensation in exchange for sex. When the girls refused, they told police Pledger wouldn't bring them back to Massachusetts.
The 15-year-old also told police Pledger had assaulted her in Mass. as well as the Providence apartment.
He was charged with sex trafficking of a minor, third-degree sex assault, enticement of a child and possession of a controlled substance.
During the investigation, police said they found cocaine, Oxycodone and $4582 in the apartment. The owner, 20-year-old Emma Schnorr, was charged with obstruction of a police officer and possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver.
Both Pledger and Schnorr were held without bail. Both teens were released to their parents.
