BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A generous group of donors has salvaged Boston's First Night celebrations.
The New Year's Eve event was in jeopardy after the non-profit First Night organization folded in June. The group, which operated for nearly 40 years, cited a decline in donations and sponsorships.
The Boston Globe reports the Highland Street Foundation has donated $100,000 to be the lead sponsor.
Many others have also donated money to ensure the festivities go on as planned.
