Dog wedding carries a six figure price tag

An entrepreneur and animal rights activist held an extravagant wedding for her dogs on Thursday night to raise money for the Humane Society of New York.

Wedding vendors donated the luxury goods and services that carried a total price tag of more than $158,000. To put that total into perspective, the L.A. Times reports that the average human wedding typically costs $27,000.

The unusual affair, held in Central Park on Thursday, makes the Guinness Book of World Records for being the world's most expensive pet wedding.

The newspaper reports that Wendy Diamond's white Coton de Tulear donned a $6,000 dress on her wedding day. Other expenses include $5,000 on sushi and $15,000 on an orchestra.

All of the proceeds from the $250-per-ticket proceeds will go to the Lucky Diamond Critical Care Ward at the Humane Society of New York.
