Defense calls for mistrial in Aaron Hernandez double murder trial

BOSTON — The defense team for former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez is asking the judge to declare a mistrial.

FOX25’s Ted Daniel was in court as the request was made based on testimony Thursday by Raychides Sanches.

The issue surrounds whether the witness was supposed to identify Hernandez as the shooter in front of the jury.

The prosecution didn’t directly ask Sanches to identify Hernandez, but he did say the shooter “looked just like him” when asked.
