Dedham High students accused of hazing

DEDHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Dedham Superintendent June Doe released a statement Wednesday in response to an alleged hazing incident involving several students last week at Dedham High School.

The statement says the district's anti-bullying/anti-hazing policies were violated, prompting an "internal investigation into the reported allegation."

"It is disappointing and most disturbing since these policies are in place to protect all students in a safe and supportive learning environment," Doe said.

The statement did not include specifics about the incident. Doe said that while she and others understand the community's interest, "school officials are prohibited by federal and state laws from commenting on or disclosing information about individual student discipline."

Doe said disciplinary actions could include suspension or expulsion.
