Death of N.H. man found in Hampton apartment ruled a homicide

HAMPTON, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The death of a 56-year-old Hampton, N.H. man found inside his apartment overnight has been ruled a homicide.

An autopsy revealed Robert Roderick died from multiple blunt impact injuries to his head.

N.H. State Police and the N.H. Attorney General's office said Roderick's body was found inside a home early Friday morning.

A woman, who identified herself to FOX 25's Jessica Reyes as the girlfriend of one of the victim's roommates, said she and her boyfriend found him dead and covered in blood inside an apartment at about midnight.

"It's just a shock. I don't understand how anybody could do this," said Nicole Belanger.

Belanger told FOX 25 she and her boyfriend went to check on Roderick just before midnight after they didn't hear from him for several hours. When he didn't answer the door, they climbed through the window. She says they found him inside with a wound on his head.

"My boyfriend went over and lifted the shirt off his face. It was a white shirt covered in blood," Belanger explained.

A third roommate also lives at the home.

Police remained at the scene Friday afternoon.

An investigation is ongoing.
