BOSTON — Officials are investigating a death Friday morning at the Harvard School of Dentistry in the Longwood Medical area.
Officials told Boston 25 News that a man was found dead along with a bag inside a small lab in the dentistry school building. The bag appeared to have some sort of chemical in it, and that triggered the hazmat response at the building on Longwood Avenue.
Fire officials have gone into the building in full hazmat gear and said that readings showed there were no signs of the hazardous materials in the air. They have not identified what the hazardous material was.
Police says it's possible that the person found deceased died Thursday and was found Friday morning.
Boston Fire Department has not said if it was a student or a worker that died. Harvard's graduation for the Dental and Medical School was Thursday.
The body will be decontaminated before being taken to the medical examiner, said Boston Fire Department.
