Deadly stabbing not the first time police have been to Brockton home

BROCKTON, Mass. — Investigators are trying to figure out what happened in the moments before a deadly stabbing in Brockton.

A woman was taken into custody for questioning at the scene, but police have yet to charge anyone in the death.

Brockton police showed up to the home on Maguire Road around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon where they found a man stabbed to death inside.

Police haven’t said much about the investigation, but have been canvassing the neighborhood asking anyone for details about what happened.

Neighbors told Boston 25 News the couple who lived in the house had been dating. They also said police were dispatched to the location about a month ago after a woman had been randomly walking in neighbors’ homes.

“She was walking up the street one day, looking for a ride to the store, she was inebriated,” neighbor Donald Tessier said.

We aren’t releasing the name of the woman because she was just taken in for questioning. She hasn't been charged with anything.

Police have not yet identified the victim.
