DCR extends lifeguard coverage to Friday in response to above average temps

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Department of Conservation and Recreation says due to the extremely hot weather it will expand early season weekend lifeguard coverage at regional wading pools, as well as inland and ocean beaches, to include this coming Friday.

Lifeguards began weekend-hour-only staffing at many wading pools, as well as inland and ocean beaches this past Saturday.

Most wading pools will be open weekends until June 29, when all remaining wading pools and full-sized swimming pools open for use seven days a week.

Daily lifeguard coverage at Spectacle Island in the Boston Harbor begins on July 3.
