Daughter of former state rep. charged with armed robbery

WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The 21-year-old daughter of a former state representative is being held without bail amid allegations that she orchestrated an armed robbery in Worcester.

Francesca Fresolo, daughter of former State Rep. John Fresolo, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery, and armed assault with intent to murder. According to Masslive.com, Fresolo was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.

Police responded to an apartment on Grand View Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim. When they arrived to the scene, they found the 19-year-old victim suffering a gunshot wound to groin. He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim initially told police he was walking when he was shot by an unknown suspect. They later learned the victim wasn't providing an accurate story and that he knew the suspect.

According to Masslive.com, investigators allege Fresolo dropped off a male accomplice in the woods on Greenwood Street and the accomplice waited in the woods until she returned with the victim. The accomplice then reportedly approached the car and threatened the victim with the gun. The victim fought with the accomplice, who was trying to take a plastic bag from him. There is no word on what was in the bag.

During the altercation, the victim was pistol whipped by the assailant and then shot. Both the accomplice and Fresolo then fled in her car.

Prosecutors claim Fresolo admitted to planning the robbery. They also claim the crime was caught on camera.

Francesca Fresolo is the daughter of former State Rep. Fresolo. The Democrat from Worcester resigned in 2013 during an ethics investigation.
