Dangerousness hearing held for West Bridgewater arson suspects

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) One of two men reportedly linked to as many as 24 fires on the South Shore was held without bail on Thursday.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced that Mark Sargent, of Middleboro, was held without bail after a dangerousness hearing.

Jeanmarie Louis, also of Middleboro, was held on $10,000 cash bail. If Louis makes bail, he must wear a GPS monitor and abide by an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

Both men are facing charges that include burning a building and attempt to burn a public building for a Jan. 30 fire in West Bridgewater.

Sargent is the live-in boyfriend of Louis' mother.

Police say Sargent has been under investigation since a marine fire in December. He was questioned and police got a warrant to secretly put a GPS on his car. Since then, officials say his car was at the scene of nine other fires.

Investigators say the men could face many more charges for the 24 other fires in the coming weeks.
