Dad & daughter lose everything in Norwood apartment fire

NORWOOD, Mass. -- A father, his young daughter and roommate lost everything when a fire tore through their Norwood apartment Monday afternoon.

Norwood Fire Department told Boston 25 News the fire on Norwest Drive started on a stove.

Juan Samulonis lived in the home with his roommate, Frank. Samulonis’ daughter Jisele lives with her mom, but spends half her time at her dad’s house. No one was hurt. Their puppy was also able to escape the flames, but Jisele’s two pet Hamsters died.

Only a few pieces of memorabilia were salvaged. Everything else was destroyed.

"[Samulonis] is a hardworking, loving, caring, strong and very compassionate man, dad, son, brother and uncle," his sister, Sandra Gomez, told Boston 25 News.

Donations of clothes, food and gift cards are being sought. A GoFundMe page has also been created.
