DA: Body part found in Charles River, possible link to burned body case

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A human body part was found in the Charles River that may be linked to a burned body case that police have been investigating since late last year.

Burned body parts were found on the grounds of Bridgewater State Psychiatric Hospital and in Hyde Park in November.

The body part was found in the river near the MIT sailing pavilion Friday morning.

Officials confirmed to FOX 25 in December that North Shore rapper Reggie Cummings, a person of interest in this case, was arrested in San Diego and brought back to Massachusetts.

Cummings left the Salisbury condo he had been renting since September abruptly, about the same time human remains were discovered in Bridgewater and Hyde Park. Investigators say the remains belonged to one of Cummings' friends, 24-year-old Dennis Jackson.

Jackson, a father of three, also stayed at the rental, sleeping on the second floor.

Cummings was arrested while trying to enter San Diego from Mexico in November. Investigators say he was held on unrelated warrants. He has not been charged in Jackson's death.
