Crowds return to businesses near Boston bomb site

BOSTON (AP) - People are returning in big numbers to the shops and restaurants near the site of the Boston Marathon bombing, but reminders of the deadly attack are unavoidable.

Businesses near the bombing site reopened last week. On Sunday, the sidewalks of Boylston Street were filled with thousands of shoppers, diners and others enjoying the sunny spring day.

Hundreds stood in line to see the running shoes, flowers and notes left at a makeshift memorial to the three people killed and more than 260 injured in the April 15 bombing.

Joseph Goucher wore a "Boston Strong" T-shirt while in line. The Massachusetts man says that he feels great sadness about the bombing but that it was important to enjoy a beautiful day because those killed or injured in the blast cannot.
