Crews call for backup during Hyannis home fire

HYANNIS, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Fire crews in Hyannis had to call for backup fighting a two-alarm fire near the Kennedy Compound Sunday morning.

According to fire officials, the Park Place home was empty and undergoing renovations. They believe the fire was caused when discarded rags, which had staining chemicals on them, spontaneously combusted.

Damage to the home is estimated around $70,000.
