• Crews battle large fire at home in Newton


    NEWTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Fire crews in Newton battled a fire at a home on Charlesbank Road in Newton Monday afternoon.

    Video from SkyFox showed flames shooting from the building's roof as firefighters sprayed water through second floor windows. Later, a portion of the roof of the building collapsed.

    Three people were taken to local hospitals. Newton fire officials said one of the injured, a plumber, had minor burns on his wands, while a mother and child were transported as a precaution.

    The home appeared to be a multi-family complex. Officials said four families were displaced.
