Medway riding ring burned to the ground, 3 firefighters injured

MEDWAY, Mass. — Crews battled flames at a horse stable on Oakland Street early Friday morning.

The three-alarm fire appears to have started in a large riding ring that was burned to the ground. The indoor riding ring is a long way off the road, so firefighters had some water supply issues.

The flames never reached the barn. All 36 horses have been accounted for.

Three firefighters suffered heat-related injuries. Two were treated on the scene and one was taken to the hospital.
