Couple wanted for armed pharmacy robbery in Mass. arrested in Maryland

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- A husband and wife wanted for participating in an armed robbery of a pharmacy in Ashburnham over the weekend were arrested Tuesday afternoon in Maryland.

At around 4 p.m. on Saturday, the Family Pharmacy in Ashburnham on Main Street was robbed by a man at gunpoint. After pointing the gun at pharmacy employees, the man stole what police described as "a small amount of cash and a large amount of prescription medication."

Based on surveillance video outside the pharmacy, police also believed  a woman driving a red sedan drove him to the pharmacy, and acted as his getaway car.

After surveillance photos of the man were published, the Ashburnham Police Department received an anonymous tip with a possible identification of the man in the surveillance photos.

The Ashburnham Police Department and the Mass. State Police's violent fugitive apprehension unit then used social media accounts and records from the Department of Corrections to identify the suspects as married couple Troy Caissie, 32, and Allason Caissie, 26, of Ashburnham as the suspects in the armed robbery.

Tuesday afternoon, police learned that the couple was in Maryland, and notified police in that state, who arrested both in Hyattsville, M.D.

Police said Troy Caissie has an extensive criminal record. As of Wednesday, it was unclear when the couple was expected to be brought back to Massachusetts for arraignment.
