• Councilor John Connolly considering a run for mayor

    BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Boston city councilor says he is seriously considering a run for the mayor's office.
        
    Democrat John Connolly told The Boston Globe that he plans to make a decision soon. The 39-year-old is a three-term council member from West Roxbury.
        
    Connolly is a former teacher and says his campaign would focus on improving city schools.
        
    Current Mayor Thomas M. Menino has not said if he will seek a record sixth-term.
        
    Candidates have until May 13 to file nomination papers.
