(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Could this be the end of Upper Crust Pizzeria?
The Boston Globe reported on Tuesday that the popular Boston-based pizza place was forced to close the doors on 10 of its 16 remaining pizza locations. The company was forced to close because the stores were low on supplies and cash.
News of the closings comes on the heels of a bankruptcy hearing which uncovered that the chain reportedly owes employees about $425,000 in back pay and damages. It also revealed that executives gave themselves a month's advance on their salaries.
The Upper Crust Pizzeria, with 176 employees, filed for bankruptcy protection in October claiming it owes nearly $3.4 million to creditors.
