Cops: Suspect robbed Walgreens pharmacist at gunpoint

SPRINGFIELD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Springfield are searching for a male suspect who reportedly robbed a Walgreens pharmacist at gunpoint on Saturday night.

Police responded to the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 501 Sumner Avenue after receiving reports that a white male suspect had entered the store around 7 p.m. and at gunpoint robbed the pharmacist of 6 bottles of Oxycontin pills.

The suspect then fled down Belmont Avenue towards East Longmeadow. A witness told police that the suspect appeared to be in his mid-to-late 20s. He had blue, grey eyes and was tall with an attractive face.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing dark clothing and a black Adidas baseball cap.
